The Brooklyn Nets are tied at the top of the Eastern Conference standings as the stretch run of the NBA season continues, while the Boston Celtics are in sixth place in the East battling to avoid the No. 7 spot. The two teams are set to meet up in the first game of an ESPN doubleheader on Friday, April 23rd in Brooklyn.
Kevin Durant sat out each of the last two games with a thigh injury, and he is questionable to return to the court for the Nets. For Boston, second-leading scorer Jaylen Brown missed their last game with a shoulder injury and is questionable to play. Evan Fournier remains out indefinitely as he goes through the NBA’s health and safety protocols, and Robert Williams III is questionable with a knee injury.
Update: Brown, Walker and Williams have been ruled out. Fournier is not on the injury report.
Celtics vs. Nets, 7:30 p.m. ET, ESPN
Pick ATS: Nets -5
Be sure to check out the injury reports before placing your wager, but at this point, we’re going with the Nets to cover this spread at home. Brooklyn had a day off on Thursday as they return home for the first time in a week, while the Celtics are playing a back-to-back after beating the Phoenix Suns at home last night. Both teams have done well against the spread recently, but let’s go with the home favorites in this spot.
