What time is the 2021 GEICO 500 and how long will the race last?

If you’re wondering when the 2021 GEICO 500 will start or how long it will last, we’ve got you covered.

NASCAR Price Check – GEICO 500 - Fantasy Salary Review

The NASCAR Cup Series is back in action on Sunday, April 25th with the GEICO 500 at the Talladega Superspeedway. The race starts at 2:00 p.m. ET and will air on FOX. You can watch a live stream on FOX.com/live or via the FOX Sports GO app.

The race is 188 laps, which thanks to the size of the legendary superspeedway adds up to 500 miles. We see some serious speed on the track and so the race usually lasts just over three hours. The last three races have lasted 3 hours and 27 minutes, 3 hours and 5 minutes, and 3 hours and 16 minutes, respectively. Last year’s race went 191 laps due to a need for overtime.

Denny Hamlin enters Sunday’s race as the favorite, installed by DraftKings Sportsbook at +650. He’s followed by Joey Logano (+900), Ryan Blaney (+1000), and Chase Elliott and Brad Keselowski (both at +1100). Blaney won last year’s GEICO 500 while Hamlin claimed the checkered flag at the second race at Talladega last October — the YellaWood 500.
