The Minnesota Twins head to the shores of Lake Erie on Monday to kick off a three-game series with the Cleveland Indians. We’ve got the picks for you on the moneyline and a player prop that we think has a solid chance of paying off.
Twins vs. Indians, 6:10 p.m. ET, ESPN+
Moneyline pick: Twins -124
Both teams come into this series on a bit of a downswing. Cleveland has just two wins in their last seven games and the Twins have just one win in the last week. Minnesota’s offense has been sketchy, scoring an average of just three runs per game last week, and that number is aided by a 12-run performance. Without it, they’re scoring just 1.5 runs in their last six. Cleveland is doing a bit better, averaging a more consistent 3.8 runs per game over the last week.
But Minnesota’s offense will get to see a struggling pitcher in Zach Plesac. He’s given up six runs in each of his last two starts and has combined for 14 hits in his last 5.2 innings on the bump. Twins pitcher Jose Berrios has given up just seven runs all season, including just one in his most recent start.
Player Prop: Jose Berrios U5.5 strikeouts (+115)
Berrios has earned at least five punchouts in all of his starts this season and has 30 so far on the year, so it’s easy to see why the over is appealing. But he has tied his lowest number of Ks in his last two starts, with just five apiece. Cleveland doesn’t strike out a ton either, with just 174 on the season, one of the fewest in the AL.
