The Boston Red Sox and New York Mets will begin a three-game series Tuesday at 7:10 p.m. ET on ESPN. Garrett Richards will get the start for Boston, while David Peterson will be on the mound for New York. We’ll go over some ideal picks on DraftKings Sportsbook centered around the game here.

Red Sox vs. Mets, 7:10 p.m. ET, ESPN

Moneyline pick: Red Sox +135

New York took two out of three games from the Washington Nationals this weekend. As for Boston, they split a four-game set against the Seattle Mariners at Fenway Park. Despite not having the pitching staff that the Mets do, the Red Sox still find themselves in first place in the AL East, thanks to their offense. Boston is averaging 5.17 runs per game, which is good for third in the majors, but first in the AL. The Red Sox are only averaging 4.33 runs in their last three games, but are looking to get back on track against Peterson.

The 25-year-old pitcher has a record of 1-2 and ERA of 6.75 through three starts. In his last outing against the Cubs, Peterson gave up six runs (three earned runs), four hits, two walks, and struck out in 3.1 IP. It was his second-shortest appearance this season. Peterson should hopefully fare better on Tuesday night. Last season, he struck out three and gave up seven hits, two earned runs, in 5.2 IP against the Red Sox. As for Richards, he has a record of 0-2 with an ERA of 6.48. In his last start against the Blue Jays, the 32-year-old pitcher allowed four earned runs, four hits, six walks and struck out two in 4.2 IP.

Player Prop: Garrett Richards U4.5 strikeouts (-132)

Aforementioned, Richards has not been great at all this season for the Red Sox. The veteran pitcher currently has more walks (13) than he does strikeouts (12). Through four starts, he has yet to go over 4.5 strikeouts in a game. However, Richards did have two-straight starts where he recorded four strikeouts. On Tuesday night, he’ll be facing a New York offense that isn’t scoring a lot of runs, but does not strikeout a lot (7.88 Ks per game) this season.
