The Denver Broncos will have the ninth overall pick in Thursday’s NFL Draft. Denver can go in a variety of different directions with their first pick. At that spot, they could opt to take a quarterback such as Justin Fields, who will likely fall out of the top-5. Denver’s front office brass has not been shy about bringing in competition for current starter Drew Lock.
The former second-round pick had an average season under center for Denver, which featured both good and bad moments. However, it’s too early to say whether Lock is the team’s franchise quarterback or not. Along with quarterback, Denver could use their first round selection on a defensive player. Former Penn State linebacker Micah Parsons would be a solid add to their defense for the foreseeable future.

Micah Parsons (+600)
This might be crazy but the Broncos do not take Fields and instead add to their defense with Parsons. The dynamic linebacker would be a tremendous upgrade to what they have there currently and could be a Day 1 starter right away. Denver would be best suit to bring a veteran quarterback to compete with Lock á la Teddy Bridgewater.
