How the public is betting first five picks in 2021 NFL Draft

Which players will land in the Top 5 in the 2021 NFL Draft? We examine the betting splits over at DraftKings Sportsbook.

The Atlanta Falcons will draft Kyle Pitts

Wednesday update: Welp, so much for Kyle Pitts value. His odds to go top five have improved considerably from +110 to -225.

The first two selections are pretty well set in stone for the 2021 NFL Draft with Trevor Lawrence and Zach Wilson coming off the board early according to oddsmakers. But what about the rest of the top five?

Of DraftKings Sportsbook bettors who have already placed wagers on this, 43% of the handle is going to former Florida Gators tight end Kyle Pitts to crack the top five at +110 odds with 26% of the bets, which also leads the group. Former Oregon Ducks offensive tackle Penei Sewell is getting the second most bets at 25% with former LSU Tigers wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase getting the second most money on him with 21% of the handle.

The odds and splits are provided by DraftKings Sportsbook.

Top 5 pick betting splits

Ja’Marr Chase: (-200) 21% handle 12% bets
Penei Sewell: (-167) 13% handle 25% bets
Kyle Pitts: (+110) 43% handle 26% bets
Mac Jones (-305) 7% handle 7% bets
Justin Fields: (+100) 9% handle 14% bets

Best Bets

Pitts has fantastic value in this spot, so we’re going with the public here. As one of the most beloved talents near the top of this year’s draft, there is a very good chance he lands inside the top five likely at either the No. 4 or No. 5 spot. Another likely player to make his way into the top five is former Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Mac Jones, who isn’t getting much money or that many bets in his direction at -305 odds. This likely all comes down to what the San Francisco 49ers do with the third pick, and there’s a good chance that’s where Jones will land on Thursday night.
