How the public is betting first ten picks in 2021 NFL Draft

Which players will land in the Top 10 in the 2021 NFL Draft? We examine the betting splits over at DraftKings Sportsbook.

Why Ja’Marr Chase will land in Detroit

Tons of attention will go toward the top few picks of the draft especially with the number of quarterbacks expected to be selected highly. However, there could be value to be had in betting on some of the second-tier players who could crack the top 10 of the first round on Thursday night.

43% of the money placed on this wager at DraftKings Sportsbook are going with former LSU Tigers wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase at -2000 odds. Former Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback Justin Fields is getting the highest number of bets with 12%, though he’s getting just 9% of the handle.

Below are odds and info provided by DraftKings Sportsbook.

Top 10 pick betting splits

Ja’Marr Chase: (-2000) 43% handle 3% bets
Rashawn Slater: (-150) 16% handle 7% bets
Justin Fields: (-500) 9% handle 12% bets
Penei Sewell: (-1000) 7% handle 5% bets
Patrick Surtain II: (-2000) 6% handle 11% bets

Best Bets

It would be a significant upset if Chase does not find himself inside the top 10, especially considering many mock drafts have him going at No. 5 to the Cincinnati Bengals to pair up again with Joe Burrow. At -2000 odds, you’re not getting much value with Chase. However, former Northwestern Wildcats offensive tackle Rashawn Slater is getting -150 odds to crack the top 10, and there’s decent value in that. He is getting the second highest percentage of the handle at 16% in this wager, and there’s a good chance this bet will be successful as he is likely to be inside the top two offensive linemen picked.
