Best bets for players drafted 3-4-5 in 2021 NFL Draft

We break down which bets we like for 3-4-5 picks in the first round of the NFL Draft.

Are Lawrence and Wilson going top-2 next Thursday?

We all know, or at least think we know, who the first two picks of the 2021 NFL Draft will be, as Trevor Lawrence and Zach Wilson look destined for the Jacksonville Jaguars and the New York Jets respectively. The real questions start at pick No. 3, which the 49ers gave a king’s ransom to acquire a few weeks back. Then the Atlanta Falcons have the fourth overall pick, and have multiple options. And finally the Bengals, who will pick fifth and have two or three players likely on their list.

We’ll try to break down the options and come up with the best bets over at DraftKings Sportsbook.

I believe that the 49ers will choose between Mac Jones and Trey Lance with the No. 3 pick. Would the 49ers put Ian Rapoport’s credibility at stake when they want to continue using him to disseminate the information they want him to disseminate? Maybe, but I doubt it. So, that narrows the field down, no pun intended. I don’t think any other team wants Mac Jones, especially enough to trade up for him, so other than the 49ers, he’s off my board for pick four. The Falcons are the wildcard here. I expect them to either draft Justin Fields or Kyle Pitts or trade back with a team that wants Fields or Lance if he’s still there. I personally believe Fields is a guy a team would trade up for, so I’m leaning his way as the No. 4 pick in two of three possibilities for the Falcons. That leaves the Bengals, who very well could draft Penei Sewell, and maybe they should, but Ja’Marr Chase is a special player, has a ton of history with Joe Burrow, and this draft is deep on the offensive line.
