The Philadelphia Eagles will usher in a brand new era of football after they parted ways with head coach Doug Pederson and traded quarterback Carson Wentz to the Indianapolis Colts. To replace Pederson on the sidelines, the Eagles hired Nick Sirianni from the Colts. The first-year head coach will have the tall task of getting this team back to the Super Bowl and also continuing the development of now second-year quarterback Jalen Hurts.
Hurts is one of the many young players on the Eagles roster that will likely get a significant amount of reps in a rebuilding season. Philadelphia has a lot of holes on both sides of the ball that they will need to fill in the draft. The Eagles need to draft another cornerback to play opposite of veteran Darius Slay. However, they could decide to draft another wide receiver in the first round.

Fantasy football impact
The Eagles cut in line ahead of the Giants and grabbed their guy. The Eagles’ track record with wide receivers of late hasn’t been great, but Smith is as good as it gets. He’ll likely add some weight as his career goes along, but in this NFL a receiver doesn’t need to push cornerbacks around and Smith knows how to get open. He should be able to adjust to the NFL quickly and become a fantasy startable player sooner than later.
Kenny Gainwell, RB
Gainwell ran a 4.43 40 and that shows on the field, as he can get up to top speed in a hurry. But he also doesn’t play like a small back. At 5’11, 201 pounds, he can stay on his feet through contact and pick up extra yards. But in the end, he likely will be used as a receiver, hurting Miles Sanders’ fantasy value in Philadelphia. As soon as Gainwell can carve out some playing time, he should be able to give full PPR fantasy leaguers a boost.
