The ACC has the likely No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft with Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence, but how many players with the Atlantic Coastal Conference produce in the first round this year? The ACC’s record of 12 players picked in the first round was in 2005 and we won’t get anywhere near that number this season. But, will we hit the over or the under per DraftKings Sportsbook?
Player Odds
Total ACC Players Drafted in the First Round: Over 5.5 -106, Under 5.5 -134
Best bets
OVER -106
Lawrence is a first round lock, but how many other ACC members can we expect to hear their name called on day one? Miami DE Jaelan Phillips, Virginia Tech OL Christian Darrisaw, Clemson RB Travis Etienne, Virginia Tech DB Caleb Farley, DE Gregory Rousseau, DB Asante Samuel Jr., and Notre Dame LB Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah all have a chance to go in the first round.
If we take a look at the consensus mock draft, six players are in the first round, while Phillips and Samuel Jr. have a large number of mocks placing them in the first round over the last week. That gives us eight players with a realistic chance and we need just six. I feel great about four, good about five and okay about six. And we can even add North Carolina wide receiver Dyami Brown to the mix, as NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero pegs him as a sneaky first round possibility. It might be close, but I see enough wiggle room here to get us to the over without too much of a sweat.
