Jalen Suggs banks in a three to advance Gonzaga to the national championship game

The game of the millennium. Breathtaking. Incredible.

Gonzaga Bulldogs guard Jalen Suggs reacts after a play during the semifinals of the Final Four of the 2021 NCAA Tournament on Saturday, April 3, 2021, at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Ind. IndyStar-USA TODAY Sports

The Gonzaga Bulldogs advance to the national championship game and keep their perfect season alive thanks to a 40-foot bank shot from Jalen Suggs in a 93-90 overtime win over the UCLA Bruins in the Final Four.

In what enters the pantheon of college basketball games that you will ever see, both teams put on offensive displays of shotmaking that seemed almost surreal. The Zags were 37-63 from the field. UCLA was 34-59 and 8-17 from three-point range... and lost.

Drew Timme was 11-15 from the field for 25 points, and took a charge on Johnny Juzang at the end of regulation that forced the extra session. Juzang was magnificent as he has been all tournament, with 29 points and six rebound while playing all 45 minutes.

This goes right there with Duke vs. Kentucky in the 1992 Elite Eight and Christian Laettner’s shot as one of the great college basketball games in history. You will tell your grandchildren about this one.

In a year that’s been such a struggle for everyone, we got the college basketball that shows why the game is so special. Incredible.
