Moneyline pick, best player prop for White Sox vs. Mariners on Monday

The first series of the season was less than ideal for the Chicago White Sox, but it went slightly better for the Seattle Mariners. The two teams match up tonight as the Sox try and claw back a game so they don’t spiral out of control too early in the season.

Moneyline pick: Mariners +1.5

The White Sox continue their west coast swing after falling in three of four to the Los Angeles Angels to open up the season. The Sox have shown the ability to explode for runs, scoring 12 in their lone win of the season. But in the other three games, they combined for just 10 runs. The one bright spot for Chicago has been rookie DH Yermin Mercedes, who went 8-for-8 to start his season, an MLB record.

The Mariners are 2-1 on the year and have had the same inconsistency on offense, scoring seven runs in one game and combining for seven in the next two. But their pitching has been better, as they shut out the Giants in their last game. Seattle also got a day of rest Sunday, while the White Sox were one of the only teams in the league to play. On top of being fresh, they’ll also be less deep into their rotation and bullpen for this matchup.
