Why are The New Day vs. AJ Styles & Omos meeting at Wrestlemania?

The match will be centered around the 7’3” Omos making his in-ring debut.

Night 1 of Wrestlemania will feature a Monday Night Raw tag title bout featuring 11-time champions Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston or “The New Day” facing the “Phenomenal” AJ Styles and bodyguard Omos.

This match will notably be the in-ring debut of Omos and he’ll have three veterans working to make him look like a million bucks on the biggest stage.

Why are they fighting?

Immediately after the New Day toppled the Hurt Business to reclaim the tag belts in March, Styles and Omos challenged them for the titles at Mania with Styles having an opportunity to cross another milestone off his bucket list by becoming a grand slam champion in the WWE.

Omos, real-name Jordan Omogbehin who played college basketball at both nearby South Florida and Morgan State, has been Styles’ bodyguard since last fall. He’ll be making his in-ring debut, and expressed a desire to take down the legendary tag team for their belts.

While the build to this has been short, it’s been entertaining and their match at Wrestlemania should be good with the 7’3” giant Omos coming out looking dominant.
