New Orleans Saints draft QB Ian Book with No. 133 overall pick

Notre Dame QB Ian Book goes to the New Orleans Saints with the No. 133 pick in the 2021 draft. Will he be a fantasy football asset to start his career?

The New Orleans Saints have taken a chance on Notre Dame quarterback Ian Book. The team drafted him in the fourth round with the No. 133 overall pick.

There’s been plenty of speculation regarding which team could make a potential play on the former three-star recruit. Book finished 2020 with the lowest passer rating of his collegiate career, throwing just 15 touchdowns and three interceptions on 358 attempts. He’s got some rushing upside, but his below-average arm strength and poor timing cap his potential as an NFL quarterback.

Also in the quarterbacks room, the Saints have former Bucs QB Jameis Winston and gadget-guy Taysom Hill. Following the retirement of future Hall-of-Famer Drew Brees, there have been plenty of questions regarding the future of quarterback position in New Orleans. After Brees suffered a substantial rib injury in 2020, we saw Taysom Hill get the start for the team
