Pick against the spread, best player prop for Bucks vs. Spurs on Monday

We go over some of the best betting options for Monday’s matchup between the Milwaukee Bucks and San Antonio Spurs.

NBA: Washington Wizards at Milwaukee Bucks Benny Sieu-USA TODAY Sports

The San Antonio Spurs will likely need a few more wins to guarantee themselves a spot in the play-in tournament as they host the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday night. San Antonio has the 10th-best record in the Western Conference at 32-35, just 1.5 games ahead of the New Orleans Pelicans. Meanwhile, Milwaukee has the third best mark in the East at 43-24 and already locked up a division title.

The Spurs are struggling down the stretch, though they have been seeing plenty of good competition. San Antonio lost six of their last seven games with five left to play. Milwaukee is riding a five-game winning streak and is favored to win their sixth consecutive matchup.

Bucks vs. Spurs, 8:30 p.m. ET, NBA League Pass

Pick ATS: Bucks -7.5

The Spurs will return home following a four-game road trip, but they have one day less of rest than Milwaukee, which was able to rest on Saturday and Sunday to get ready for this game. San Antonio has the clear motivational edge because they need wins right now, but that has been the case for a while, and they cannot seem to close out victories. The Spurs are just 1-6 against the spread in their last seven games, and look for that to get worse after Monday night.

Player Prop: Keldon Johnson O1.5 3-pointers (+195)

The Spurs do not shoot the three-ball very much with the fewest long balls attempted per game in the entire NBA. However, the Bucks’ defense is giving up the third most three-point attempts per matchup this season. In addition, Milwaukee ranks No. 25 in the NBA in three-point shooting percentage allowed on the season. Given these numbers, Johnson is worth the risk with plus odds. He attempted three or more three-point attempts in three of his last five games and has a good chance to let it fly more often on Monday night, knocking down two 3-pointers for a nice payout.
