The Brooklyn Nets (45-24) will play host to the San Antonio Spurs (33-35) who are still hoping to lock in a spot in the play-in tournament, as they sit in 10th place in the West, just 2.5 games ahead of the 11th-place Pelicans. Meanwhile, the Nets sit in second place just two games behind the Sixers with three games left to play. The Nets might not catch Philly in first place, but they’ll fight to keep their second place spot as the Bucks are just one game behind.
Update: Kyrie Irving (face) has been ruled out. Harden (hamstring) will play on a minutes restriction.
Spurs vs. Nets, 8:00 p.m. ET, NBA League Pass
Pick ATS: Nets -5.5
It’s no surprise that the Nets are favored to win this one. They’ve been solid all season long, and even more so since they picked up James Harden from the Rockets. The Spurs are just 4-6 in their last 10, although their last game ended up in a 146-125 win over the Bucks as DeMar DeRozan led the team with 23 points. Brooklyn should be near full-strength with the exception of Kyrie Irving being listed as questionable after taking an elbow to the face on Tuesday during their 115-107 win over Chicago. He was diagnosed with a bruise but could still see the floor tonight. James Harden is expected to return for the Nets as well after missing five weeks with a hamstring injury. His last appearance was on April 5th against the Knicks. Between Harden’s return and the Spurs missing Derrick White, the Nets should cover the spread and take care of business at home.
Player Prop: Lonnie Walker O13.5 points (-113)
Regardless of the outcome of the game, Walker should be good for double-digit points as he’s been in decent form recently. He’s only scored under 10 twice in the month of May, with his last three performances coming in at 16, 18, and 19 points. He added a career-high eight rebounds in the Spurs’ loss to the Blazers last Saturday as well. Even if the Nets take care of business, there’s no reason Walker can’t bank at least 14 points if he sees his normal playing time.
