Pick against the spread for Kings vs. Grizzlies on Friday

The Western Conference play-in tournament-bound Memphis Grizzlies (37-33) will host the Sacramento Kings (31-39) for a second straight night tonight with a chance to add another ‘W’ to their resume before a critical regular-season finale showdown with the Golden State Warriors on Sunday.

The Grizz toppled the Kings in a 116-100 see-saw affair on Thursday thanks to a 30-point outpouring from Dillon Brooks in the win. As a result, Memphis remained tied with Golden State in the standings, making Sunday’s matchup a battle for the more advantageous eight-seed in the tournament and rendering tonight’s battle with the Kings effectively meaningless.

Sacramento, meanwhile, has been hobbled by injuries to end the regular season but have been getting solid production from its role players, like the 31-point effort from Justin James off the bench in last night’s loss.

Even with this game being rendered meaningless for the Grizzlies, all signs point towards their usually band of starters being cleared to play in tonight’s matchup. Even if they are limited in their minutes tonight, the presence of players like Ja Morant, Jonas Valanciunas, and the aforementioned Brooks should be enough for Memphis to cover heading into Sunday’s showdown in San Francisco.
