The No. 9 seed Indiana Pacers will face the No. 10 seed Charlotte Hornets will meet each other in the 2021 NBA play-in tournament to decide who will advance to compete for the 8-seed in the East. The Hornets and Pacers will tip-off at 6:30 p.m. ET on Tuesday night on TNT. The winner of Hornets-Pacers will face the loser of the 7-8 game between the Boston Celtics and Washington Wizards, which is at 9 p.m. ET on Tuesday night.
With the Hornets-Pacers matchup already set in stone, DraftKings Sportsbook wasted no time getting up opening odds for the game. We’re going to take a look at the lines and give a first take.
Hornets vs. Pacers play-in tournament odds
Spread: Pacers -2 (-112)
Moneyline: CHA (+106), IND (-130)
These lines were posted not too long ago and they’ve already shifted a bit. Indy opened at -3 and the line is down to -2. We should see plenty of action on the Hornets from the public with LaMelo Ball back and the Pacers’ injury report being lengthy. There’s value in Charlotte in the one-game format. Indiana may have a few injuries and players could be ruled out on Monday or before the game Tuesday, so getting ahead while the Hornets are getting points makes sense. Charlotte can legit win this game straight up as well, so plus money while it’s still there is appealing. This game should be closer to a pick ‘em and we may even see the Hornets favored at one point before Tuesday.
