Moneyline pick, best player prop for Yankees vs. Rangers on Monday

On Monday the New York Yankees will head down to the lone star state to take on the Texas Rangers for the first time this season.

Moneyline pick: Yankees (-286)

The Rangers are coming into this one on a six-game losing streak and it won’t get any easier for them having to take on New York’s ace, Gerrit Cole. During their six-game slide, the Rangers are scoring just under three runs per contest, while New York is averaging nearly two runs more per game over that span.

Cole has been shoving in recent games too. During his last four appearances, he’s given up just three runs in 28 total innings. In that time he’s notched 39 strikeouts to just 16 hits.

Player Prop: Gerrit Cole over 9.5 strikeouts (-137)

As previously mentioned, Cole has been racking up strikeouts like nothing over his last few starts. Ten Ks seems reasonable for him against even the best lineup in the league. But against Texas, it’s even more likely. The Rangers have the fourth most strikeouts in the league with 409 as a lineup. Don’t be shocked if Cole hits a new season-high tonight.
