The 2021 NBA Playoffs have arrived. The playoffs opens with a play-in tournament for the 7-10 seeds in each conference, followed by the first round of the top eight seeds. We’ll be breaking down DraftKings Sportsbook odds for each team to open the tournament and as teams advance through each round.
The Sixers were able to hold off the Brooklyn Nets and Milwaukee Bucks to secure the No. 1 overall seed in the Eastern Conference. Philly has always had teams capable of competing in the past, but injuries and poor leadership always led to early exits. Now, the Sixers have a legit MVP candidate in Joel Embiid, a healthy defensive stopper in Ben Simmons, and a championship-caliber coach in Doc Rivers. Add in a few more veterans on the wings to provide much-needed 3-point shooting and the Sixers have a solid recipe for success heading into the 2021 NBA playoffs. The X-Factor could be forward Tobias Harris, who will have tough defensive assignments and will need to provide secondary scoring behind Embiid.

The Sixers enter the postseason with the fourth-best odds to win it all at +700 on DraftKings Sportsbook. Philly is second in terms of championship odds among East teams behind only the Nets. From a pure value standpoint, you’d think banking on the No. 1 seed in the East at these odds would be a good play. It’s mostly because no one thinks anyone can beat the Nets in the East. Philly had success against Brooklyn in the regular season, but never faced the Nets’ Big 3 at full-strength. At +300 to win the East, the Sixers have a tough road but are getting good juice with books expecting more from the Nets and Bucks in the postseason.
