The 2021 NBA Playoffs have arrived. The playoffs opens with a play-in tournament for the 7-10 seeds in each conference, followed by the first round of the top eight seeds. We’ll be breaking down DraftKings Sportsbook odds for each team to open the tournament and as teams advance through each round.
The Wizards secured an invitation to last year’s NBA bubble after finishing ninth in the Eastern Conference standings and were eliminated from playoff contention early. Washington also kicked off 2020-21 poorly after swapping John Wall for Russell Westrbook, but surged back into playoff contention thanks to Mr. Triple-Double pairing with Bradley Beal. The Wizards might be a fringe playoff team, but they’re playing their best basketball and are an exciting darkhorse worth watching in the play-in games.
Wizards odds to win NBA championship, May 17: +25000
Washington has the third-worst title odds at +25000 and will likely have to go through the 76ers or Nets in the first round of the playoffs. Washington beat Brooklyn twice in three games during the regular season without James Harden, but it’s unlikely that a healthy Nets team would drop a seven-game series with home court advantage. The Wizards also got swept by Philadelphia in four games. Washington could very well sneak into the playoffs, but its journey will probably end shortly after the play-in games.
