The Los Angeles Lakers are set to host the Golden State Warriors in a Western Conference play-in game on Wednesday at 10:00 p.m. ET. A guaranteed playoff spot is up for grabs ahead of the fourth meeting between these two teams this year, so the stakes haven’t been higher for either side all season. The home team is 2-1 against the Dubs in 2020-21 and should have an advantage, but anything can happen when Stephen Curry is on the court.
DraftKings Sportsbook has the opening lines for the game available. Let’s take a look at the lines ahead of tip-off.
Lakers vs. Warriors play-in tournament odds
Spread: Lakers -4.5 (-112)
Moneyline: LAL (-190), GSW (+160)
The Lakers lost their first matchup against the Warriors this year by two points and won the next two by an average of 28.5 points, so it’s surprising to see that the reigning champs are only favored by 4.5 points. However, Curry has scored more than 40 points in nearly a third of his games since Los Angeles and Golden State last faced off and has proven that he can power his team to wins against any opponent when he’s at his best. It won’t be easy for Curry to reach his peak against the Lakers though, as they boast a league-best 106.8 defensive rating and have held him to 23 points per game on 42.1% shooting from the field and 34.4% shooting from deep. Warriors multiple Warriors role-players will likely have to step up for the underdogs to get a desirable result. The Lakers seem like the best bet on the moneyline and against the spread for that reason.
