The 2021 NBA Playoffs get underway on Tuesday, May 18 with the Eastern Conference play-in tournament. The bottom four seeds, No. 7 through No. 10 will face off in a mini-tournament to determine the final two seeds for the first round of the playoffs.
TNT will host the Eastern Conference games, starting with the No. 9 Indiana Pacers and No. 10 Charlotte Hornets. Tip-off is set for 6:30 p.m. ET at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. The winner will face the loser of the Wizards-Celtics play-in game for the No. 8 seed. The loser will head home for the offseason.

The Pacers will enter the play-in tournament with a 34-38 record and snapped a quick two-game losing streak with a win over the Toronto Raptors to close out their regular season. Malcolm Brogdon, Jeremy Lamb, Myles Turner and T.J. Warren remain out, and Indiana also has a number of players listed as questionable including Aaron Holiday, Caris LeVert and Edmond Sumner.
Charlotte will come in with a 33-39 record and has been in a bit of a free fall to close out the final stretch of the regular season. The Hornets were just a game below .500 earlier this month before losing each of their last five regular season games. The only players listed on Charlotte’s injury report are Gordon Hayward and Cody Martin, and both will be unavailable for this game.
