The 2021 NBA Playoffs have arrived with the new play-in tournament. The Eastern Conference tips off first on Tuesday, May 18 with the bottom four seeds, No. 7 through No. 10 facing off in a mini-tournament to determine the final two seeds for the first round of the playoffs.
TNT will host the Eastern Conference games, and the second game of the evening will feature the No. 7 Boston Celtics hosting the No. 8 Washington Wizards. Tip-off is set for 6:30 p.m. ET at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. The winner secures the No. 7 seed in the first round while the loser will face the winner of the Hornets-Pacers game for the No. 8 seed.

The Celtics will enter Tuesday night’s game with a 36-36 record as they faded down the stretch. Boston lost five of their last six games in the regular season and went 2-6 this month. In addition to Jaylen Brown being out the rest of the season, Boston is dealing with several question marks down their roster. According to the injury report, Celtics Evan Fournier, Marcus Smart, Jayson Tatum, Tristan Thompson, Kemba Walker and Robert Williams III are questionable for Tuesday night.
The Wizards have a 34-38 record this season and will go for their third consecutive victory on Tuesday night. Deni Avdija and Thomas Bryant remain out for the rest of the regular season, while point guard Raul Neto is questionable with a hamstring injury. Washington is led by Bradley Beal, who finished just below Stephen Curry for the scoring mark this season with 31.4 points per game.
