The No. 9 Memphis Grizzlies host the No. 10 San Antonio Spurs in the NBA play-in tournament at 7:30 p.m. ET on Wednesday night on ESPN. The winner of this game will face the loser of Lakers-Warriors to decide who is awarded the No. 8 seed into the NBA playoffs from the Western Conference. Whoever gets the 8-seed will face the Utah Jazz in the first round of the playoffs starting this weekend.
These two teams played each other three times this season and the Grizz won that series 2-1. The Spurs took the season opener before Memphis swept a back-to-back set with wins. Those games were all high scoring and we could see a similar trend in the play-in tournament. San Antonio won’t have Derrick White or LaMarcus Aldridge for this game, one via injury and the other via buyout. The Grizzlies lost the play-in tournament in the Orlando bubble last season, so they’re familiar with this spot.

Spurs vs. Grizzlies injury report
Spurs updates
Trey Lyles — The Spurs big man is dealing with an ankle injury and is listed as questionable to play in this game. Lyles hasn’t played since March, so his status isn’t exactly a big deal in the grand scheme of things.
Grizzlies updates
Grayson Allen — The Grizzlies guard is dealing with an abdomen injury and is questionable to play. Had this been earlier in the season, maybe Allen’s status would be of note. The Grizzlies have the majority of their rotation healthy, so Allen won’t get a ton of run off the bench if he does end up playing.
