Pick against the spread, best player prop for Raptors vs. Lakers on Sunday

We go over some of the best betting options for Sunday’s matchup between the Toronto Raptors and Los Angeles Lakers.

The Los Angeles Lakers surprisingly fell short to the Sacramento Kings when LeBron James made his return to the hardwood on Friday but will get a chance to wrap up their weekend on a high note. The Toronto Raptors will face the reigning champs on Sunday and hope to end a three-game losing streak. It could take some time for the Lakers to hit their stride, with James and Anthony Davis healthy, but they’re still favored by a significant margin ahead of this matchup. Here are some of the better betting options on DraftKings Sportsbook worth considering.

Raptors vs. Lakers, 10:00 p.m. ET, NBA TV

Pick ATS: Raptors +8.5

Toronto rested Kyle Lowry in its last game but will pair him with Fred VanVleet in the starting lineup on Sunday. Having both guards together makes the Raptors significantly better, even without Chris Boucher (knee) available. Most people think that the Lakers should have a significant edge at home, but Toronto has gotten the best of them at the Staples Center lately. The Raptors have gone 5-0 ATS against the Lakers in their last five road games and are also 5-0 against them straight up. James and Davis aren’t quite at 100 percent, so I expect this trend to continue.

Player Prop: Khem Birch O7.5 rebounds (+110)

Boucher’s absence is still helping Birch dominate on the boards. The former Orlando Magic big. He’s grabbed at least eight rebounds in three straight games while playing at least 32 minutes. He’s easily the Raptors’ best scoring threat and will be essential to competing against Anthony Davis and Andre Drummond. I’ll hammer the over on this total for as long as Boucher is out.
