NASCAR’s Cup Series is running a rare road course this weekend in Austin, Texas, at the Circuit of the Americas race track. The 2021 EchoPark Texas Grand Prix gets going at 2:30 p.m. ET and will air on FS1.
This is also a notable event because it marks the third time this year that we’ll have qualifying. NASCAR has pivoted to a performance-metric formula to determine starting lineups due to COVID-19. There was qualifying for the Daytona 500 and the dirt race at Bristol Motor Speedway, and this weekend is the first of successive weekends of qualifying.
Qualifying got underway at 11 a.m. on FS1 and we’ll be tracking results below as the starting lineup is finalized. Qualifying will take roughly an hour. Once it wraps, if a driver has to change cars or make an adjustment to their car, they will be dropped to the back of the pack.
We’ll be updating this article as times continue to come in during qualifying for the 2021 EchoPark Texas Grand Prix.
