The Seattle Mariners and Oakland Athletics will continue their three-game set on Tuesday at 9:40 p.m. ET. Logan Gilbert will be on the mound for the Mariners, while Cole Irvin will start for the Athletics. We’ll go over some ideal picks on DraftKings Sportsbook centered around the game here.

Mariners vs. Athletics, 9:40 p.m. ET

Moneyline pick: Athletics -167

The Mariners opened up early week series with a surprising 4-2 win over the A’s on Monday night, snapping their six game losing skid. Seattle’s offense came alive as former Rookie of the Year winner Kyle Lewis hit a two-run HR in third inning and then rookie outfielder Jarred Kelenic hit a solo HR in the eighth inning. Furthermore, it was only the second time in seven games that the Mariners scored at least four innings.

In the other clubhouse, Athletics could not figure out Mariners starter Yusei Kikuchi, who only allowed 1 earned run and went 6.0 IP. Oakland has now lost two consecutive games and will try to get back into the win column with Cole Irvin on the mound. The 27-year-old pitcher has a record of 3-5 and 3.59 ERA through nine starts. In his last outing against the Houston Astros, Irvin allowed 8 hits (1 HR), 5 earned runs, 2 walks, and had 1 strikeout in 5.0 IP.

The southpaw has now allowing three home runs in two out of three starts and did not at least go 6.0 IP for the first time since April 23 against the Orioles. However, Irvin can get back on track tonight against the Mariners. He has pitched well at home with a 2.3 record and 3.99 ERA this season. As for Gilbert, the rookie pitcher will be making his first start on the road.

The 24-year-old has a record of 0-2 and 9.45 ERA through his first two MLB starts. In his last outing against the Tigers, Gilbert gave up 4 hits, 3 earned runs, 2 walks, and recorded 2 strikeouts in only 2.2 innings pitched. He has yet to go past 5.0 IP in his short stint in the majors, but will hope to change that against the division-leading A’s.

Player Prop: TBD player props for neither team have been posted yet.
