The Phoenix Suns held off the reigning champions in their first playoff game of the year last week and will look to go 2-0 against the Los Angeles Lakers this postseason in Game 2 on Tuesday. LeBron James and Anthony Davis have dug themselves a hole, Chris Paul, Devin Booker, and company won’t make getting out of it easy, Let’s go over the best betting options at DraftKings Sportsbook ahead of tip-off.
Pick ATS: Lakers -1.5
The winning team will almost certainly cover the spread in this case. The Lakers are still favored to win the series and Game 2, despite having dropped the series opener. Los Angeles’s stars were underwhelming in Game 1, but Chris Paul is expected to play through a shoulder contusion that could affect his effectiveness. If Paul isn’t as much of a threat as usual as a scorer, I like the Lakers’ odds to knot the series at 1-1.
Player Prop: Anthony Davis to be top point scorer (+250)
This feels like a spot the Lakers come out and even the series and Davis was pretty awful in the Game 1 loss. He went 5-of-16 from the floor and finished with 13 points. Really, if you want a safer line, you can look at AD O35.5 Pts + Rebs + Asts at -113. The two players ahead of AD in this category are Devin Booker (-110) and LeBron (+225). I think in a perfect game for the Lakers, James does more facilitating than scoring, which helps AD. If you’re L.A., your game plan heading into tonight is shut down Booker. Chris Paul is banged up and likely won’t be 100 percent and no one else on Phoenix offensive can hurt you outside of Book.
