This was another Game 1 of a first-round series where the underdog stuck around a bit longer than expected. The Wizards actually had a 1-point lead at halftime in Game 1. The lead evaporated down the stretch thanks to a big second half from Joel Embiid, who finished with 30 points. Tobias Harris led all scorers with 37 points on heavy volume shooting. The big different in the game was the Sixers’ ability to get to the line. Philly outscored Washington 23-12 at the charity stripe. If the Wizards can limit the fouls and keep up the hot shooting, we could see another close game on Wednesday night.
