Will the Cincinnati Bengals go over or under their win total in 2021?

The Bengals look to improve on their four wins in 2020. Can they top their win total projection?

The 2020 Cincinnati bengals were without their starting running back and first round quarterback for a big part of the season. They ended up with a 4-11-1 record and secured an early pick to help in their rebuild. The offense looks ready to get to work, but they will likely have trouble stopping opponents in 2021.

We’ll take a look at the latest DraftKings Sportsbook lines and predict if the Bengals can beat their 2021 win total. The odds below are as of May 24, 2021.

AFC North win totals

Baltimore Ravens 10.5 (Over -125, Under +103)
Cleveland Browns 10.5 (Over +103, Under -125)
Pittsburgh Steelers 8.5 (Over +110, Under -134)
Cincinnati Bengals 6.5 (Over -137, Under +113)

Notable offseason moves

The Bengals drafted WR Ja’Marr Chase fifth overall and then landed OT Jackson Carmen in the second round. IN free agency they picked up DE Trey Hendrickson, CB Mike Hilton, OT Riley Reiff, CB Chidobe Awuzie, and DT Larry Ogunjobi.

They lost RB Gio Bernard, WR A.J. Green, OT Bobby Hart, OG Alex Redmond, C B.J. Finney, DE Carl Lawson, CB, Mackensie Alexander, and CB William Jackson.

Cincinnati Bengals prediction: UNDER 6.5

The Bengals aren’t quite there on the offensive line, which is concerning, but they do have a strong set of offensive skill players. More troubling is their defense. A full season of Joe Burrow would give me hope of Cincinnati beating their 6.5 over/under, but it could be close.

I see both the Browns and Ravens as being extremely tough to beat this season while the Steelers defense will still keep them in games even if Ben Roethlisberger’s arm is toast. And besides a tough AFC North schedule, they face the Vikings, Packers, Chargers, 49ers, and Chiefs. Their most winnable games look to be against the Jaguars, Lions, Jets, Bears, Broncos and Raiders. The Lions are the only team I’d give them a for sure win of that group. They’d likely need to sweep those games and take one from the Steelers. I believe they’s need to have great injury luck to get to seven wins this season.
