Two NL East foes open up a new series Friday night as the New York Mets welcome the Atlanta Braves to Citi Field for a three-game set which is slated to begin at 7:10 p.m.
We’ve got a solid idea of what’s going to happen in this one, so keep reading for a pick on the moneyline as well as a player prop bet we think has a good chance of hitting.
Braves vs. Mets, 7:10 p.m. ET
Moneyline pick: Braves (-157)
The last time these two teams faced off, just over a week ago, New York took two of the three games they played. Taijuan Walker, who will be on the bump for the Mets tonight, helped out in one of the wins. He tossed just three innings though and allowed just one hit before being removed. Braves starter Ian Anderson hasn’t tossed against New York, but he’s been very effective with Atlanta winning seven of the nine games he’s pitched in.
With both pitchers being so solid so far this season, this one is going to come down to the offense. The Mets have consistently one of the worst offenses in MLB this season, scoring 148 runs on the year which is the worst in baseball. Over their last 10 games, they’ve scored just 2.9 runs per game. Compare that to the Braves, who have scored more than three runs in all but one of their last 10 games. They’re averaging 6.3 runs per game over the same span.
Player Prop: TBD
