Pick against the spread, best player prop for Warriors vs. Pelicans on Monday

We go over some of the best betting options for Monday’s matchup between the Golden State Warriors and New Orleans Pelicans.

NBA: New Orleans Pelicans at Denver Nuggets Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

The Golden State Warriors and New Orleans Pelicans are looking find themselves inside the top 10 to compete in the play-in tournament before the NBA playoffs. The two will match up on Monday night with the Warriors currently with the ninth best record in the Western Conference at 32-32, while the Pelicans would be on the outside looking in with the No. 11 record in the West at 29-35.

On the injury report, Golden State’s third leading scorer Kelly Oubre Jr. sat out the last two games with a wrist injury and is questionable to get back in the lineup. In addition, Eric Paschall and Damion Lee remain out. For New Orleans, big man Steven Adams missed two games in a row battling through a toe injury and is questionable for Monday night. Josh Hart and Nickeil Alexander-Walker will be unavailable.

Warriors vs. Pelicans, 7:30 p.m. ET, ESPN

Pick ATS: Warriors +2

There is not a significant betting advantage either way with both teams getting a day off on Sunday, and both teams had to travel ahead of this game. The Warriors snapped a two-game losing streak by beating the NBA’s worst Houston Rockets on Saturday night. The Pelicans won three of their last four games with an overtime win over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday. With no meaningful edge on each side, let’s go with the team taking the points and take Golden State.

Player Prop: Lonzo Ball O2.5 3-pointers (-167)

The Pelicans struggle to defend the three-point line, and Lonz Ball is set to take advantage of that. He connects on 3.1 3-pointers per game on 8.1 attempts on average, and New Orleans ranks No. 27 in the NBA in three-point shooting percentage allowed with 38.2%. They also allow the fourth most 3-pointers to be attempted per game. Ball made 8 of 17 shots from long range in Saturday night’s win and knocked down three or more in four of his last five games.
