A new week has dawned across Major League Baseball and it’s time to decide who to add to your fantasy team to fill some holes for the next week.
We’ll tell you who we think is a solid pickup on the waiver wire that you can look for some solid production out of this week.
Enrique Hernandez, Boston Red Sox
ESPN ownership: 45.2%
Hernandez likely won’t be a guy you’ll want to keep on your squad long term. He’s hitting just .231 this season with nine RBIs. But the Red Sox face a fortuitous schedule in the next few days, facing off with the Detroit Tigers and the Baltimore Orioles this week, two of the worst team’s in baseball.
Luis Arraez, Minnesota Twins
ESPN ownership: 65.1%
The Minnesota Twins have entered a bit of a free fall, but they have a chance to get back on track this week when they open up a slate of games with the Texas Rangers. Arraez is hitting .289 this season and has a solid .773 OPS. He got three hits in his most recent game and has hit in the leadoff spot every time the Twins have taken on a right-handed starting pitcher this season, so he’ll have more at-bats to do damage.
Andrew Knizner, St. Louis Cardinals
ESPN ownership: 2.3%
Knizer isn’t a name you’d normally see on here, but with legendary catcher Yadier Molina on the injured list, Knizner will be getting a ton of playing time. He’s averaging a hit and a run per game over his last six appearances. So if you’re in need of a catcher, he’s a decent option in a pinch.
