Moneyline pick, best player prop for Astros vs. Yankees on Tuesday

The Houston Astros and New York Yankees will open up a three-game set Tuesday at 7 p.m. ET. Zack Greinke will be on the mound for Houston, while Domingo German will start for New York. We’ll go over some ideal picks on DraftKings Sportsbook centered around the game here.

Moneyline pick: Astros +104

The run line for Tuesday night’s contest is set at -1.5, with the Yankees listed as the favorite at home. They are also favored on the moneyline at -122. New York is coming into this series off of a three-game sweep over the Detroit Tigers. The Yankees’ offense finally showed signs of life after being dormant and inconsistent this season. New York outscored the Tigers 18-4, which included two shutout victories.

They will try to win their fourth-straight game tonight with German on the mound. The 28-year-old has a record of 2-2 with an ERA of 4.05. In his last start against the Orioles, German only allowed three hits, a walk, and struck out six in 7.0 IP. In three games against Houston, he has an ERA of 3.86 with a record of 0-1.

Meanwhile, the Astros took two out of three games from the Tampa Bays Rays over the weekend. Houston has played well on the road this season with a record of 8-6. They will turn the ball over to Greinke, who struggled in his last start against Seattle. The 37-year-old gave up four hits (a home run), four earned runs, two walks, and struck out five only 5.0 IP. It was the second time in four starts that Greinke went 4.0 IP. This season, the veteran pitcher has a record of 2-1 and 3.44 through six starts. In 15 career starts against New York, Greinke is 4-4 with an ERA of 5.05 (which is his second-worst ERA against any team).

Player Prop: Zach Greinke over 4.5 strikeouts (-157)

There’s a lot of juice on both Greinke and German’s strikeout prop, both of which are coincidentally at 4.5. However, sometime the juice is worth the squeeze. Both Houston and New York do not strikeout often as they are ranked inside the top-10. But we are going to go with Greinke as he has gone over 4.5 strikeouts in three-straight outings. Now granted two out of three came against the Seattle Mariners, whose offense is sketchy at best. Sometimes, you have to ride the hot hand and see where it takes you.
