Moneyline pick, best player prop for D-Backs vs. Marlins on Thursday

We go over some of the best betting options for Thursday’s matchup between the Arizona Diamondbacks and Miami Marlins.

Betting the over for New York (NL) and St. Louis

The Arizona Diamondbacks and Miami Marlins will wrap-up their three-game set Thursday at 6:40 p.m. ET. Madison Bumgarner will be on the mound for Arizona, while Pablo Lopez will start for Miami. We’ll go over some ideal picks on DraftKings Sportsbook centered around the game here.

Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Miami Marlins, 6:40 p.m. ET

Moneyline pick: Arizona +125

The Marlins have won the first two games of this series by an average of seven runs. Miami captured an 8-0 shutout victory on Wednesday night, thanks to a 4-RBI performance from outfielder Adam Duvall. The Marlins also got Diamondbacks starter Luke Weaver out of the game early. Weaver only went 4.0 IP and gave up 6 earned runs, 2 walks, but struck out six.

That being said, the Diamondbacks will try to not get swept with Madison Bumgarner on the mound. The veteran pitcher is coming off a solid outing against the Rockies April 30, when he only allowed 4 hits, 1 earned run, 1 walk, and struck out 6 in 5.0 IP. MadBum is 3-0 in his last three starts with an impressive 1.06 ERA. Bumgarner will be opposed by Marlins starter Pablo Lopez. He does not have a win yet this season (0-2), but has a stellar ERA at 2.34. In his last start against the Nationals on April 30, the 25-year-old pitcher only allowed 6 hits but zero earned runs and struck out 2 in 7.0 IP. Furthermore, Lopez has an ERA of 1.02 in three starts at home this season.

Player Prop: Pablo Lopez O5.5 strikeouts (+102)

If the Marlins want to capture the elusive three-game sweep over the D-Backs, it will fall on the arm of Lopez. This season, the 25-year-old pitcher has been good on the mound, despite not having a win yet. Lopez is 0-2 with a 2.34 ERA and has produced 34 strikeouts in 34.2 IP. Out of his six starts this season, Lopez has gone over 5.5 strikeouts four times. He is facing an Arizona offense that is ranked 17th in strikeouts with 8.97 per game. But in their last three games, they’ve been one of the worst offenses averaging 10.3 strikeouts.
