Will the Golden State Warriors make the playoffs?

We take a look at the Warriors’ odds to make the postseason and give our pick on the lines.

The Golden State Warriors finished the 2019-20 season with the worst record in the NBA but could return to the postseason this year. The Dubs aren’t at full strength without Klay Thompson, who is out for the year with a torn ACL, but Stephen Curry’s historic scoring run could make them one of the most dangerous teams in the approaching play-in tournament. Can Golden State creep back into the playoff picture? We’ll go over their odds to claim the seventh or eighth seed here.

The Warriors are right at .500 with a 33-33 record and rank eighth in the Western Conference. The Portland Trail Blazers hold a slim lead over the Dubs. The Memphis Grizzlies and San Antonio Spurs trail them. Portland is the only team in that group with a winning record against Golden State. Golden State’s biggest weakness is the center position, as James Wiseman (knee) is out for the year. Counting on Kevon Looney to defend Jonas Valanciunas, Jusuf Nurkic, and Enes Kanter is a big ask. Golden State can beat any NBA team in one game. I’d go for value and bet on them securing the eighth seed or better.
