The San Francisco Giants centerfielder Austin Slater broke up the tie with a solo home run in the seventh inning on Friday night in a 5-4 victory to take the first of a three-game home series against the San Diego Padres. The two will meet again on Saturday, May 8 at 4:05 p.m. ET from Oracle Park. San Francisco took a 4-3 lead in the season series and is currently at the top of the National League West at 19-13. Meanwhile, the Padres sit in the second spot of the division with an 18-15 record.
The Giants will turn to righthander Kevin Gausman, who is 2-0 so far this season in six starts and a 2.04 ERA. In his last three starts, he allowed just two runs in 20 innings of work. The Padres will start with righty Joe Musgrove on the mound with a 2-3 record and 2.38 ERA in six starts. He is coming off his worst game of the season, giving up six runs (five earned) in five innings in a 7-1 loss to the Giants last Sunday.

In five of his six starts this season, Gausman has been fantastic, allowing more than one run just one time so far this season. On the other side, the Giants proved last weekend they know how to hit Musgrove. In addition, San Francisco has been dominant in home games this season with an 11-3 record at Oracle Park. There is plenty of value to be had on the Giants especially with plus value in this spot.

Grisham will enter Saturday’s game with the best batting average among Padres hitters at .311. He has finished with at least one hit in nine of his last 10 games and had a pair of hits in Sunday’s game against Musgrove. Grisham is worth the price to get a hit in this spot.
