The Dallas Cowboys regressed last season, going 6-10 in their first season under head coach Mike McCarthy, a step down from when they went 8-8 in 2019. Of course, there were many things stacked against them, a first-year coach in a COVID year and a star player going down with a devastating injury.
We’ll take a look at the latest DraftKings Sportsbook lines and predict if the Cowboys can beat their 2021 win total. The odds below are as of June 1, 2021.
NFC North win totals
Dallas Cowboys 9.5 (Over +107, Under -130)
Washington Football Team 8 (Over -141, Under +116)
New York Giants 7 (Over -134, Under +110)
Philadelphia Eagles 6.5 (Over -155, Under +127)
Notable offseason moves
The Cowboys extended QB Dak Prescott, added S Keanu Neal, DE Tarell Basham, DT Carlos Watkins.
Dallas Cowboys prediction:
The Cowboys didn't make any splashes in free agency, but the biggest move was no doubt extending Prescott. With this deal he’s now the long-term face of the franchise. Dallas has a forgiving schedule as well. While there are some big time games, they play the Bucs and the Chiefs, there are some weaker teams on the schedule too. Who knows what New Orleans will be without Drew Brees and their division is a total dumpster fire. The Cowboys are the only team favored to win their division without double-digit wins.
Still, going based on what we know now, I’m hitting the over on this win total.
