Will the New York Giants go over or under their win total in 2021?

Entering his third season, can Daniel Jones finally put it altogether with a full arsenal of weapons?

The New York Giants finished below .500 for the fourth consecutive last season at 6-10, but still had a chance to win the NFC East. However, the team was playing short-handed with no Saquon Barkley for most the season due to a season-ending knee injury in Week 2. Without Barkley, there was a lot of pressure on second-year QB Daniel Jones to perform. Jones was at best average under center in head coach Joe Judge’s first year.

Now entering Year 2 of the Judge era, the Giants reloaded on offense with the free agent acquisition of Kenny Golladay and selection of Kadarius Toney in the first round. Can those players plus Barkley help the Giants reach the postseason for the first time since 2016? We’ll take a look at the latest DraftKings Sportsbook lines and predict if the Giants can beat their 2021 win total. The odds below are as of June 1, 2021.

NFC North win totals

Dallas Cowboys 9.5 (Over +107, Under -130)
Washington Football Team 8 (Over -141, Under +116)
New York Giants 7 (Over -134, Under +110)
Philadelphia Eagles 6.5 (Over -155, Under +127)

Notable offseason moves

The Giants bought in WR Kenny Golladay, CB Adoree Jackson, RB Devontae Booker, WR John Ross, TE Kyle Rudolph, DT Danny Shelton and drafted Kadarius Toney in the first round of the NFL Draft.

They released WR Golden Tate, LB David Mayo, and G Kevin Zeitler in free agency.

New York Giants prediction: Under 7

The New York Giants’ success or lack there of will ride on the arm of Daniel Jones. Many don’t want to say it or bring it, but this is a make it or break it year for Jones. He was drafted with a top-10 selection not too long ago and has not lived up to that billing.

With Barkley back in the fold, the additions at wideout, and the improving defense, the Giants should be a shoe in to win more than seven games. But until Jones shows that he can be that guy, the best bet here is under 7 wins.
