The Jacksonville Jaguars were by far the worst team in the NFL last season, going 1-15 en route to the first overall NFL Draft pick. They’ve made a ton of changes since then, a new head coach, a superstar rookie QB and some depth to their defensive backfield. That's given oddsmakers reason to aim high for the Jags win total this year.
We’ll take a look at the latest DraftKings Sportsbook lines and predict if the Jaguars can beat their 2021 win total. The odds below are as of June 1, 2021.
NFC North win totals
Indianapolis Colts 10 (Over +115, Under -139)
Tennessee Titans 9 (Over -110, Under -110)
Jacksonville Jaguars 6.5 (Over +110, Under -134)
Houston Texans 4.5 (Over +118, Under -143)
Notable offseason moves
The Jags hired head coach Urban Meyer, drafted Trevor Lawerence and Travis Etienne from Clemson, signed CB Shaquill Griffin, DT Roy Robertson-Harris, WR Marvin Jones Jr., DB, WR Phillip Dorsett, RB Carlos Hyde and DT Malcolm Brown.
They signed Tim Tebow as a tight end too, but it’s a long shot he makes it to opening weekend.
Jacksonville Jaguars prediction: UNDER 6.5
The Jags definitely do not have an easy road to get to seven wins. They are certainly much better than they were last season, but are they six wins better? It’s tough to say, especially with the reliance on a rookie QB, RB and a first-time NFL head coach. Lawrence has never lost a regular-season game though, so crazy things could happen. However, I’m opting for the under here.
