There are three games on the NBA Playoffs schedule for Tuesday night with a one team looking to clinch a berth in the second round. On Monday night, the Philadelphia 76ers-Washington Wizards series got interesting. All-Star center Joel Embiid injured his knee and didn’t play in the second half. His absence helped the Wizards stay alive with a 122-114 win to force Game 5.
Celtics @ Nets breakdown (BKN leads 3-1, Nets -12.5)
The Brooklyn Nets can close out their series against the Boston Celtics on Tuesday night at home. After dropping Game 3, the Nets dropped 141 on the Celts in Game 4 to make a statement, Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving combining for 81 points in the win. Brooklyn is favored heavily in Game 5 with Kemba Walker and Robert Williams unlikely to play again.
Trail Blazers @ Nuggets breakdown (Series tied 2-2, Nuggets -2)
This has been arguably the most even series in the first round. It’s been the Portland Trail Blazers and Denver Nuggets trading blows in the form of wins. The Blazers bounced back to even the series in Game 4 over the weekend, picking up a victory despite Damian Lillard shooting 1-of-10 from the field and scoring 10 points. Norman Powell and CJ McCollum combined for 50 points in the win.
Lakers @ Suns breakdown (Series tied 2-2, Suns -5)
Anthony Davis is the big story in this series. The Los Angeles Lakers big man went down in Game 4, resulting in the Suns tying the series. AD has a groin strain that will likely hold him out of Game 5 on Tuesday night. Davis was already dealing with a knee injury, so things aren’t looking great for AD. The Suns are favored as of now and it will be up to LeBron James to carry the Lakers into the second round.
