The Atlanta Braves and Philadelphia Phillies will wrap-up their three-game set at 1:05 p.m. ET. Ian Anderson will be on the mound for the Braves, while Zack Wheeler will start for the Phillies. We’ll go over some ideal picks on DraftKings Sportsbook centered around the game here.

Braves vs. Phillies, 1:05 p.m. ET

Moneyline pick: Phillies -139

The Phillies’ offense was quiet throughout most of Wednesday night’s game against the Braves until they received a two-run walk off home run from rookie Luke Williams, giving them a 2-1 victory. Philadelphia enters Thursday looking to take the series with their best pitcher on the mound in Zack Wheeler.

Wheeler has been flat-out dominant this season, picking up where he left off in the shortened 2020 season. The 31-year-old starting pitcher has a record of 4-2 and 2.51 ERA in 12 starts this season. Wheeler is pitching like a Cy Young candidate, especially at home with a 3-1 record and 1.97 ERA. Opponents are only hitting .168 against him at Citizens Bank Park and .108 in day games this season.

With those type of stats, it’s no wonder why the Phillies are favored on the ML, despite them only scoring two runs on Wednesday night. However, Braves starter Ian Anderson will look to bounce back from two rough starts against the Dodgers and Mets. In the two starts, he went a combined 8.1 IP, while giving up a total of 8 hits (2 HRs) and 8 earned runs. The 23-year-old has faced the Phillies three times this season, where he has a 4.41 ERA and allowed 8 earned runs and 4 home runs. If Wheeler can get some run support, then Philadelphia should be able to come away with their second consecutive series against an NL East.

Player Prop: Zack Wheeler over 7.5 strikeouts (-134)

Between the two starting pitchers, Wheeler has the more favorable strikeout prop number, despite the odds being juiced to -134. Wheeler has been pitching lights out this season and should be a sleeper candidate for the NL Cy Young. He has gone over 7.5 strikeouts in 7 out of 12 starts, including four straight outings. He’ll be facing a Braves’ offense that averages 9.39 strikeouts per game this season and 9.2 strikeouts per game on the road.
