This marks one of the most intriguing games on the slate for Monday night, which is why it’s getting the national TV treatment. The Chicago Cubs and New York Mets are both in first place in their divisions. They’ll do battle in NYC and it could result in a lot of drama and a lot of exciting baseball.
If you want to throw a bet down on this one, we’ll let you know who we think has the best chance to win on the moneyline and we’ll throw in a player prop that has a solid chance to hit as well.
Cubs vs. Mets, 7:10 p.m. ET, ESPN
Moneyline pick: Cubs +102
Chicago is heating up, coming into this game on a five-game win streak, while the Mets came away with a loss their last time out on Sunday. This game could provide a lot of offense, with both clubs tossing out starters who have underperformed this season.
Chicago has the upperhand on the bump though, with Jake Arrieta expected to start. He’s earned a 5-6 record and a 4.97 ERA this season, which isn’t what we come to expect from him. But, he looks like a potential Cy Young candidate next to the Mets slated starter, David Peterson. His ERA has skyrocketed up to 6.32 and has given up a combined 15 earned runs in his last four appearances.
Player Prop: TBD
