Trae Young tallied 25 points and 18 assists as the Atlanta Hawks stormed past the Philadelphia 76ers in the third quarter to eventually seal a 103-100 win in Game 4. Bogdan Bogdanovic added 22 points for Atlanta.
Joel Embiid had 17 points and 21 rebound for Philadelphia, but finished 4-20 from the field. Ben Simmons nearly had a triple-double with 11 points, 12 rebounds and nine assists but the Hawks made enough shots to ice the game late.
The Hawks did not cover the spread despite getting the win. Surprisingly, the under hit at 225.5 in a relatively low scoring game. The top player props from this game also did not do bettors many favors. Only Seth Curry’s player prop at over 13.5 points hit.
The 76ers held a 62-49 lead in the first half after dominating both opening quarters. Philadelphia contained Young early while Embiid continued to take advantage of 1-on-1 defense. The Hawks mounted a massive comeback in the third quarter, going on mini runs to eventually cut the deficit to 82-80 with one quarter to go.
Bogdanovic made a triple to give Atlanta the lead to open the fourth and the Hawks continued making critical buckets down the stretch as the Sixers kept things tight. Embiid missed a shot late and Atlanta sealed the win with free throws.
The Hawks didn’t have a great night from behind the arc, but sheer volume helped them. Atlanta took an astounding 101 shots from the floor. Expect this type of chucking to continue as the Hawks look to keep up with Philadelphia’s offense.
Game 5 is Wednesday in Philadelphia at 7:30 PM ET.
