The St. Louis Cardinals and Atlanta Braves will begin a four-game set at 7:20 p.m. ET. John Gant will be on the mound for the Cards, while the Braves will start Charlie Morton. We’ll go over some ideal picks on DraftKings Sportsbook centered around the game here.

Cardinals vs. Braves, 7:20 p.m. ET

Moneyline pick: Cardinals +175

The Cardinals are coming off of a three-game series sweep over the Miami Marlins earlier this week, while the Atlanta Braves have lost 4 out of their last 5 games. The Braves were swept in two games by the Boston Red Sox, when they lost 10-8 twice.

Atlanta will try to turn their fortunes around Thursday night with southpaw Charlie Morton on the mound. Morton has a record of 5-3 with an ERA of 4.50 in 13 starts this season. He has pitched well at home, which is great news for the Braves. The 37-year-old is 4-1 with an ERA of 4.66 in eight home starts. The key for Morton is not have a big inning as he’s given up three runs in one inning in 7 out of 13 starts this season.

As for the Cardinals, Gant has been solid behind ace Jack Flaherty this season. The 28-year-old is 4-4 with a 3.36 ERA in 12 starts. Gant has struggled in his last two starts, giving up 12 earned runs and 3 HRs in 5.2 IP. That does not sound good against a Braves’ offense that is averaging 5.36 runs per game at home, which is good for fifth in MLB. Despite their recent struggles, the Braves are a heavy favorite on the moneyline, but do not be surprised if the Cards come away with the win. Morton has struggled over his career against St. Louis with a 2-12 record and 5.68 ERA in 18 starts.

Player Prop: Tyler O’Neill to hit a home run (+350)

O’Neill has been one of the Cardinals’ best players this season not named Nolan Arenado, Paul Goldschmidt, or Yadier Molina. O’Neill currently leads St. Louis with 15 HRs on the season and a .287 batting average. This season, the 25-year-old has hit 9 HRs with a .302 average on the road. He’s also crushing the ball against right-handed pitchers, slashing .297/.335/.634 with 14 HRs.
