The Orioles are looking to salvage the series finale on Thursday afternoon after losing the first three games to Indians. Baltimore has lost seven straight games, which have all came on the road. The Orioles’ pitchers have produced a 5.67 ERA in their last three games.
Meanwhile, the Indians have won four out of their last five games, and are averaging 6.0 runs per game in those victories. Cleveland should be able to complete the four-game series with rookie pitcher Eli Morgan on the mound and the Orioles running out Jorge Lopez. Morgan did not have a great MLB debut on May 28 against Toronto, where he allowed 6 earned runs in 2.2 IP.
As for Lopez, he’s starting to figure things out after having a horrible start to the year. The right-handed pitcher has only gave up two home runs and produced 20 strikeouts in 21.2 IP.
However, Lopez has had his struggles on the road with an ERA of 5.10 and .237 opponents batting average in six starts. The Orioles are 0-4 in the 28-year-old pitcher’s last four road outings. It is hard for teams to get three-game sweeps, let alone four-game sweeps in the season. But the Indians should be able to get it done at a favorable price on the moneyline.
