Saturday evening will feature a busy day of boxing with the most significant bout featuring Jermall Charlo putting his WBC middleweight title on the line against Juan Macias Montiel in Houston. However, a fight that could draw more eyeballs will take place in Guadalajara, Mexico when Julio Cesar Chavez, Jr. faces off against MMA legend Anderson Silva in a light heavyweight bout.

This is going to be a legit fight in terms of having official judges and following normal rules, so it will not be like the Tyson-Jones or Mayweather-Paul fights this year. That being said, given the novelty nature of the matchup, DraftKings Sportsbook will not have odds to bet on.

However, we spoke with DK oddsmaker Johnny Avello and he provided us with some hypothetical odds for entertainment purposes. He would install Chavez Jr. as a -700 favorite and Silva as a +500 underdog.

JCC Jr. has a career record of 52-5-1 and fought twice in 2020. He won his last bout via TKO over Jeyson Minda in November. Prior to that, JCC Jr. had lost three of his previous four fights.

Silva has a career MMA record of 34-11 with one no contest. He last fought in October 2020 and lost via fourth round TKO on punches to Uriah Hall. He is 1-7 with one no contest in his last night bouts. His fighting still is a mix of Muay Thai, boxing, and taekwondo, so he does at least have a good deal of stand-up fighting experience.
