The Suns and Clippers meet in the Western conference finals Sunday in a historic occasion for both franchises. Phoenix hasn’t made the round since 2010 and the Clippers are reaching it for the first time ever. Here’s how bettors can look at the series, with odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook.
Phoenix Suns vs. Los Angeles Clippers series odds
The Suns are favored at -225, while the Clippers are +173. Paul George is playing well as the lead star for Los Angeles, but Phoenix is the more balanced group. Devin Booker might be the best player on the floor in every game and is shooting with tremendous confidence.
Kawhi Leonard injury impact
Leonard is not traveling to Phoenix and is rehabbing at home, according to Chris Haynes. The Clippers fear he has a torn ACL according to Shams Charania, which would rule him out for much longer than the series. The team hasn’t officially released anything on Leonard’s injury, leaving hope he could eventually come back to the court this year. If he returns, the balance of power will shift to the Clippers.
Who will win the series?
The Suns are the more balanced team, but the Clippers just took out the Jazz with four straight wins. Two of those came with Leonard sidelined. Phoenix has home-court advantage in the series and the crowd will be energized by this playoff run. Assuming Leonard doesn’t return, the Clippers are unlikely to win this series.
Pick: Suns in 6
