The Los Angeles Clippers have reached the conference finals for the first time in franchise history after winning four straight games against the Utah Jazz to take the series 4-2. Kawhi Leonard is out indefinitely with a knee injury, but Paul George is looking like a superstar. The Clippers are getting big contributions from their role players as well.
Los Angeles nearly flamed out against the Dallas Mavericks in the first round, needing some heroics from Leonard to take the series in seven games. The Clippers fell in a 2-0 hole against the Utah Jazz as well, but George and Terance Mann stepped up in Game 6 to overcome a 20-point deficit and seal the series.
Los Angeles Clippers odds to win NBA championship: +500
The Clippers had the same odds (+500) entering the postseason and despite some major ups and downs, they’re in the same spot entering the conference finals. Leonard’s injury ultimately hasn’t affected their odds, but that’ll change once his status is more clear. Los Angeles is the underdog in this series for reason and will be an underdog the rest of the way unless Leonard returns.
